Carrie Niland is an award-winning photographer and photo editor based in Fairfax, Va. Her work has appeared in numerous publications including The Washington Post, The Seattle Times, Newsweek, Time magazine, USA Today and ESPN magazine.

After receiving a master's degree in photography from Syracuse University's Newhouse School, Niland worked as a newspaper photojournalist for nearly five years up and down the east coast. She then started working as a picture editor which led to jobs at The Seattle Times and AOL.

As a photojournalist, Niland has photographed everything from major hurricanes in Florida, presidential primaries in New Hampshire, to the Daytona 500 and the Super Bowl.

Niland is currently a senior picture editor at AOL.
